Youth hostel with impeccable bathrooms and kitchens
This former youth hostel was converted into a hotel in 2022, and now offers affordable rooms. They are soberly decorated and equipped with comfortable beds. Groups and families will particularly appreciate this address, which offers budget rooms with up to 5 beds. On-site, you can also enjoy an excellent buffet breakfast, a bar and a restaurant ideal for feasting on gourmet local dishes. An address to remember if you're just passing through!

We came across this hotel by chance. We were stuck during a snow storm and were right next to this hotel. We managed to get a booking at the hotel. The owner was really nice and welcomed us in. He gave us very good advice during the snow storm which was very helpful. The rooms were recently refurbished so are very clean and comfortable. The showers were also excellent . The amazing thing in the hotel was that it's got underfloor heating all across so your feet, shoes and rooms stay warm. Excellent hotel, friendly staff and bonus was that there was a good range of board games to play whilst at the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want to have a night stop over.

Basic rooms, clean and tidy with a good location. I didnt like the fact there was no tea and coffee facilities in the room and I didnt like the fact the fire alarm detector was covered with a plastic bag!

Op kerstavond last minute geboekt omdat de door ons geboekte cottage niet bereikbaar was door sneeuw. Ondanks dat het kerstavond was werden we zeer gastvrij ontvangen. We mochten in de diner zaal ons eigen eten en drank gebruiken omdat het restaurant dicht was. Er stond wel een grote pan eigen gemaakte (heerlijke) aspergesoep die gasten konden eten. De kamer was ruim en schoon, prima bedden en badkamer. Ik kan dit hotel aan iedereen aanbevelen!

Me gustó mucho la habitación porque tenía cama, me gustó el servicio porque la camarera estaba buena, pero la ubicación está demasiado lejos

Very cosy place with a homely feel. There are some board games to enjoy in the dining area, where there are also a microwave and kettles which are available for our use. The building itself feels like it's been recently renovated which is always nice. We had a double room with a beautiful view to the other side of the main road. The one downside was that the acoustics in the room could have been better - our neighbours were loud at times, and they could be heard... However, the negatives were overpowered by our host, Filip, who was so friendly, helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. Always greeting us with a big bright smile, he attended to all our needs and made sure we were comfortable at all times - a real asset to the Hótel Laugarvatn team. A genuinely massive thank you to Filip for making our stay a memorable one ????????
