During your visit, stop off at the large Laugarvatn lake in southern Iceland, between Gullfoss Falls and Þingvellir National Park. Laugarvatn is not only the region's educational center, but also a very popular spot for its natural tranquility and magnificent sunsets. In this geothermal site, which can be spotted from afar with its plume of steam, you can enjoy open-air hot baths at the Laugarvatn Fontana, in a much calmer atmosphere than the Blue Lagoon. The area is either bustling with high-school students and tourists or almost deserted.
