You only have to look at the number of points of sale to understand that Gay-Odin is by far the leading chocolate factory in Naples. If he was born in Piedmont, Isodore Odin was the first to open a chocolate factory in his adopted city, in 1894. He named the shop after his wife's first name, Gay, and it was an immediate success thanks to the quality of its sweets. His success was due to three innovations: the Russian blue colour of the packaging, his delicious foresta chocolates (which we recommend) and the nudi. An institution not to be missed under any circumstances.

For those with a sweet tooth, here's a chocolate factory offering a range of delicious chocolates, as well as frozen desserts. Further address: Via Gennaro Serra 78 (behind Pizza Plebiscito).

MARIO GALLUCCI

Chocolatier

Artisanal chocolate factory in the hands of the Gallucci family since 1890. Located in the Sanità district, a stone's throw away from the catacombs of San Gaudioso, the shop focuses on authenticity, offering only handmade chocolate sweets. Succumb to the nocciolo (chocolate with pieces of walnut) or to the castagna fondente (a soft and mellow dark chocolate). Also chocolate bars, nougat, and candied chestnuts in the fall. Enough to recover from your emotions after visiting the catacombs!
