Known as "the little white town", Bideford stretches along the Torridge River. A charming town that deserves a moment's attention. Every Tuesday there is a cattle market to keep up the tradition. A bridge connects the two sides of the town. When the sea retreats, at low tide, it is like being on the shores of the Aral Sea. Bideford boasts a lively, ascending main street with grocers, butchers and bakers on either side of the street. All that is missing is the smell of the cream shops. Finally, located near several large beaches, it is a very pleasant town.
