Clovelly is a "private village", strange as it may sound. To enter, you must pay a "tithe". The road leads to the Clovelly Center parking lot, where tickets are issued and an audiovisual presentation of the site is shown. But the best part is yet to be seen: Clovelly is an unspoilt fishing village built around 1740. The quay dates back to the 14th century. In summer, the place is overrun with tourists, so it's best to discover it in spring or autumn to soak up its special atmosphere, so fragile and so difficult to capture between two buses of guided visitors.
