The population of this small, quiet village is dedicated to a singular activity: the blue crab fishery. And you'll see these crabs in a fairly large size, thousands in the boxes that stack up on the dock. They are mainly intended for export. The village is an ideal starting point for a national park that is unknown and poorly visited. There is hardly any tourist, which is already of certain interest. The torrential rains «La Vaguada» which hit the country and the Andes in February 2005 destroyed 40% of Inparques's palafitos.
