From La Platja, the old fishing port of L'Escala, you can wander through the Casc Antic, a former fishing village, to discover, for example, the casa de pescadors de Can Cinto Xuà (carrer de la Torre, 35). All the way to the southern tip, the town stretches along a long passeig maritime punctuated by coves and small beaches, as well as bars with terraces, ending at Cala Montgó, a pretty cove of fine sand. On the north side, another paseo links l'Escala and Sant Martí d'Empúries for around 1.5 km. This is where you'll find the most beautiful beaches and dunes.
