The most peaceful park in Milan. Sitting on its benches, you can enjoy the inimitable perfection of the magnificent basilica of San Lorenzo and a little further from that of Sant'Eustorgio.

Built by Giuseppe Piermarini (1781), this palace is one of the finest examples of Milanese neoclassical architecture. Inside, a monumental staircase and a gallery whose vault is decorated by a fresco by Martin Knoller.

This medieval tower, which dominates the foundations of a th century Roman palace, is an example of how the lords of the Upper Middle Ages affirmed their authority.

Not far from Torino and the Duomo Square, this museum is among the richest in Italy. The Pinacothèque ambrosienne was formed from the private collection of Federico Borromeo (1618), cardinal of Milan and lifeguard of several masterpieces located in the Milanese palaces during the plague that hit the city in 1630 (you will find a detailed description of this plague in the now classical book of Alessandro Manzoni, Les Betrothed).

The modern art gallery is located within the Villa Reale of Milan, a splendid neoclassical building surrounded by the gardens of Porta Venezia. It houses paintings and sculptures from the th and th centuries, including the famous painting of the proletariat, the Fourth State, of Pellizza da Volpedo. Also remarkable are the collections of the French Impressionist: Renoir, Manet, Cézanne and some Picasso.

After 900 years of commercial vocation, since 2006, following major renovation works, the Navigli have opened their doors to tourist navigation. There are five routes to choose from, such as the Linea delle Conche route, which takes you to discover one of the most picturesque areas of Milan and the revolutionary system of locks developed by Leonardo da Vinci. Some of them, like the Naviglio di Bereguardo, take you a little out of the city and are a great opportunity to discover the countryside around Milan.

This former railway factory (hence the name) has become an important cultural center, just a stone's throw from Chinatown. Managed by the city of Milan, the venue hosts eclectic, high-quality exhibitions throughout the year. Among the most recent are those devoted to Andy Warhol and advertising, Zerocalcare, a Roman cartoonist, and photographers Guido Harrari and Sebastião Salgado. Founded well before 1099, the church of Cesana was reorganized in the th century (bell tower). Its portal is in Renaissance style and with Lombardy inspiration. Its caissons ceiling is the work of a th-century French carpenter, François Ruas. The church houses a very beautiful collection of carved wooden objects dating back to the th and th centuries.

Founded in 1505, it was the theatre of the struggles between Catholic communities in the valley and Protestant communities. There is a stone staircase. The entrance gate is marble and, on the south-east side, below the second window, was once a door, currently murée, that people called "the dead door".
