It is widely recognized for its history and architecture: the grandiose mass of the central station (207 meters long) was solemnly inaugurated on May 15, 1931. A triumph of Mussolinian neoclassicism, its walls are adorned with reliefs and statues embodying the symbolism of the regime. Restored between 2005 and 2010, it is Italy's second-largest railway station, with an annual passenger flow of around 120 million.

The station was opened in 1961 and takes its name from the nearby Garibaldi Gate of the ancient city walls.

Metro. 5 lines, operating from 6 a.m. to midnight. In addition, the Passante Ferroviario connects Milan's railway stations.

This Milanese Vélib, managed by the ATM public transport company, has enjoyed growing success since its inception, among locals and tourists alike. The Trenord company provides rail connections between Milan's main stations (Rogoredo, Centrale, Cadorna...) and various Lombardy towns within a 30 km radius. The 13 S lines provide easy access to the whole of Lombardy thanks to the passanti, omnibuses that serve Saronno, Lecco, Monza and Pavia. Tickets can be purchased on the Trenord or Trenitalia websites, or directly at the station. Don't forget to validate your ticket (also online, thanks to the check-in system).
