Opposite the Pastis bar, in the heart of Quadrilatero Romano, La Conserveria opened its doors in autumn 2015. A beautiful setting, which has kept the wooden stalls of an old pastry shop intact to house hundreds of cans of every color. Spanish-speaking preserves that the boutique offers for sale or consumption on the spot. The concept is the same as that of tapas: small fish, olives, octopus, vegetables in oil and even small cakes to pick at on the spot, washed down with fine wines!

Turin certainly has no shortage of wine cellars where you can buy the good products of the region, but Mastrovini is one of the wine bars that also sells wine in bulk, and therefore at very interesting prices. If you feel like leaving with a bottle of nebbiolo, barbera, arneis or ruché, this small enoteca is the ideal place to shop. Moreover, the staff is very nice and they also serve drinks and good food on the spot! A place that remains over time a must, especially for the aperitivo!

Since 2008, Marchetti ice creams have been conquering Turin and Italy. And we're not at all surprised. In his stores, Alberto creates his flavours with great care, choosing top-quality ingredients and collaborating with local, responsible producers. Finally, they also organize educational workshops on gelato-making. You're bound to come across a Marchetti store as you wander around town - there are six of them... so far! Not to be missed.

In the slightly outlying district of San Salvario, this gelateria has built up a very good reputation in Turin and beyond in just a few years. And the big blackboard full of customer comments is proof of that! In summer, ask for a scoop (or several!) of mara dei boschi, a variety of strawberry, and in autumn opt for a pomegranate sorbetto instead. You won't be disappointed, all the perfumes are handcrafted and really excellent. Two other addresses in Turin: Corso de Gasperi, 57 and Piazza Carlo Emanuele II, 21.

In the Crocetta district, come and discover a delicious corner of authentic Piedmont. Here, you'll find typical wines sold in bulk, and plenty of goodies from the four corners of the region to accompany them. You'll also find Freisa di Chieri, the wine produced in the heart of Turin, in Villa della Regina, just across the Po, and a good selection of the famous local liqueur, génépi. Wonderful welcome, both warm and professional. An excellent address to visit again and again.

The place is also ideal for a lunch of simple, tasty dishes, or for a superb aperitivo: a wide choice of cocktails, gins from all over the world, different types of spritz, all accompanied by platters of delicacies to nibble on!

A real authentic patisserie where you can drink an excellent coffee and nibble on little mignardises, each more appetizing than the last. This is the strong point of the place and it will be really hard to make a choice, believe us! The place isn't very big (there's also a covered veranda terrace with a few tables, but it's pretty narrow), but it's perfect for taking a break like a true Turinese, without the groups of tourists you might find in cafés further inland.

This patisserie, which has been in existence for over a century (it was founded in 1918), prepares delicious cakes that will perk you up during a morning or afternoon break. But you can also have lunch here, as it serves delicious savoury dishes. Quality products and attentive service. The house makes chocolates, sweets and cookies of all kinds, in case you'd like to take a little ballotin home with you!

This bakery in the center of Turin offers 100% natural bread, free from brewer's yeast, palm oil, preservatives, sugar and many other ingredients often used in bread-making. In fact, Panacea is part of the Filiera della Farina di Stupinigi, a social cooperative that produces flour naturally not far from Turin, and then makes bread with natural sourdough (known here as pasta madre). The staff will be delighted to explain the process to you.

This cute patisserie doubles as a tea room, where you can sample the vegetarian delights baked here, many of which are vegan cakes. The warm welcome and intimate decor make you feel as if you're visiting friends. Luigia speaks French and will be happy to advise you on traditional Piedmontese sweets and more original preparations to take away with you. Savoury dishes are available at lunchtime if you'd like to take a break: don't hesitate, everything is homemade, nourishing and delicious.

Galup has been a Piedmontese institution since 1922! The factory is still in Pinerolo, but the store in the center of Turin is the perfect place to discover the company's delicious treats in a colorful setting. The store is attractive and, of course, Galup's original panettones are a delight to share: you just can't get enough of their inimitable melt-in-your-mouth texture. Other typical sweets (baci di dama, krumiri, chocolates...) take pride of place on the shelves. A must for the festive season... and the rest of the year too!

Since 1976, the Ficini family has been running this bakery, which attracts the gourmet Turinese to this street in the San Salvario district. And it's easy to see why, when you see the delicacies coming out of the ovens! It's the perfect place to pack a picnic and head to the nearby Valentino Park, to enjoy the greenery and sunshine while watching the squirrels frolic about. A word of advice: try the real grissini, especially the rye ones, but after that you won't be able to accept the industrial versions!
