For those who like their wardrobes sober but very feminine, the boutique of Cristina Tardito, whose designer name has become Kristina Ti, always has some lovely surprises in store. Her collections strive to maintain a look of classic elegance, timeless and flattering. Although Kristina Ti's success is celebrated every year during Fashion Weeks, and the opening of boutiques elsewhere in Italy, the designer remains very attached to her Turin roots. The store is magnificent, and the staff are very attentive.

North of the Quadrilatero Romano, after crossing the Dora river, here's an outlet that's still in the city, which is rare, and which will satisfy more than one bargain hunter. Closer perhaps to a concept store than a real factory outlet, Basic Village offers Robe di Kappa, Superga, K-Way and Jesus Jeans at discounted prices, with regular restocking. A restaurant-pizzeria, bars, hairdresser... Perfect for a day's shopping.

An avant-garde boutique born of the passion for fashion of two German designers who, after the success of their Berlin store, decided to open one in Turin. They did so in January 2005. The items, with their somewhat underground, even unconventional style, feature original cuts in which leather often takes pride of place. The creations respect the craftsmanship involved from start to finish, whether for bags or garments. The store is also the manufacturing workshop.

To the west of the city, in the Cenisia district, Piazza Benefica - originally Piazza Martini - takes its name from the fact that, in the past, clothes were distributed here for the poor. Today, however, it's a very different story, as this beautiful market is a real hit with fashion victims, who always hope to find bags, perfumes and all kinds of designer and vintage clothes at very good prices. Bargains all round!

Very popular with Turin women, who make a point of visiting at least once a week, the Mercato della Crocetta focuses mainly on clothing merchandise, with the exception of a few vintage pieces of furniture and jewelry. If you look hard enough, you'll be able to pick up a Louis Vuitton bag or Ray-Ban glasses for slightly less than you'd pay in a store. It's nice to take a break between purchases and drink a good cappuccino in a friendly atmosphere. This market has been around for over a century.
