Located 712 m above sea level in the Kožuk mountain range, Smrdliva Voda is a popular holiday destination for the people of Gevgelija. Many of them own cottages or villas here. They come here for the fresh air, the beautiful scenery, the Greek oak and arbutus forests, the mushrooms, the hunting, the hiking and the springs that smell like... rotten eggs. Indeed, the hamlet's name means "stinking water". This is because the springs found here are loaded with sulfur - hence the unpleasant smell of the water. But they are effective against stomach ache and kidney stones. Water is omnipresent, as is the Konska. This river rises 3 km to the west on the slopes of the Čiči Kaj (1,767 m above sea level) and flows 30 km further into the Vardar, near the Vardarski Rid site at Gevgelija. Along the way, it encounters a recent dam, but above all, it winds through rocky gorges much appreciated by mountaineers. The road along it ends 18 km after Smrdliva Voda, at the small ski resort of Kožuk Mountain. This is now abandoned. But it still offers great hiking opportunities.
