Important archaeological site in Italy, a Byzantine palace of the sixth century.
This archaeological site is among the most important in Italy. It is a century-Old Byzantine palace whose soil is now 3 m below road level. It is accessed by the church Sant'Eufemia (th century). There are polychrome mosaics with geometric and floral motifs, including the Dance des génies des saisons and The Good shepherd, whose representation, standing on the hip, differs from the Christian classic.
