Just across from the cathedral, in an arty setting with a pretty decor, a new restaurant that focuses on traditional Ligurian fish-based cuisine, but above all on its vegetarian/vegan menu, where oriental sauces are a welcome addition. Although the choice of dishes, made with local, seasonal produce, is limited, the vegetable/vegetable combinations are tasty, and the desserts gourmet, like this walnut cake. This restaurant is a sure bet in town. Don't hesitate to enter the dining room to discover the decor, which is as much a galleon captain's cabin as a pirate's den. Bacco, the owner and a former fisherman himself, has put together a jumble of bric-a-brac. The à la carte menu features a seafood platter, marinated Ligurian anchovies, spaghetti with shellfish, bottarga pasta, fritto misto, stockfish, grilled swordfish... To accompany your meal, we recommend mineral water(naturale) or a pitcher of house white wine(vermentino).

Things have changed since then, and phones and coffee have made their appearance. The farinata (a kind of roasted chickpea cake) is one of the best in Liguria, but the fresh fish dishes, cutlets, small fried dishes, soups and pastas are just as excellent.
