The birthplace of adinkra cloth is located 18 km north of Kumasi on the road to Mampong. This fabric is obtained using a special "knot-tie-weave" method, which is quite unique. It is often used in funeral attire, with red and black being the main colors. To get there from Kumasi, all you have to do is hop aboard a tro-tro whose final destination is Mampong. It will drop you off in Ntonso, a fairly quiet village where harassment of visitors is (still) relatively undeveloped. From Ntonso, you can also go to two kente weaving villages, Adanwomase and Wonoo.
