Tollymore is one of Ireland's largest forest parks, crossed by the Shimna River. It was the first state forest in the country and offers beautiful walks on the northern slopes of the. It is particularly nice to enter the Bryansford Gate, impressive door with its granite turrets and Gothic style architecture dating back to 1786. The whole site covers 630 ha and, like many other places in Northern Ireland, it has grown to posterity thanks to the game Game of Thrones, which turned some scenes into it.

Cette forêt est absolument sublime. Nous avons emprunté le river trail balisé, de mémoire, en rouge. La balade est absolument remarquable, surtout en cette période d'automne où la forêt revêt de magnifiques couleurs. Le parking est au tarif de £5 par voiture.

Nombreux sont les lieux de tournage de la série "Game of Thrones" en Irlande du Nord. Mais pour celui-ci même si vous n'êtes pas un fan de la série, n'hésitez pas une seule seconde. Cette forêt dégage un aspect si mystique et enchanteresse, qu'elle mérite à elle seule de détour !
