Paula and her husband, as well as being excellent bakers, are incredibly friendly and will give you a few tasters to help you choose. Wondering why there's a long queue outside the store? Quite simply because the company's pastries have been attracting the city's sweet tooth for over 60 years! From traditional cream and apple tarts to carrot cakes and chocolate cakes, you'll be spoilt for choice. Manning's also makes cakes on request for special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, etc.). Comfortably seated in the tea room, a slice of pie is even better with a good hot chocolate.

It's a bakery that's in full swing from early morning, when the queue grows on the sidewalk of Pearse Street. While you wait to pick up your organic bread or sit down to one of their delicious pastries (our palate still remembers their cruffin, a cross between a muffin and a croissant!), you can watch the little hands at work to provide you with traditional breads, croissants and other savoury puff pastries.
