Bakfickan is the only fish and seafood restaurant in Visby. And not just any restaurant! In a family atmosphere, with colored lights and waxed tablecloths, one feels immediately at ease. Quickly the waiter puts a slate on the table: with chalk the fresh arrivals of the day are indicated (herring, shrimps, lobster...). You can also order à la carte. The big display case is always full of crab, scampi and mussels. The atmosphere is joyful, the service friendly and the fish soup succulent. A must.

Located in a small street off Stora Torget Square, this restaurant serves fine, typical Gotland cuisine. In its warm and intimate dining room, there is a wide choice of specialities, including lamb fillet with hazelnut sauce or the very typical saffron pancake. There is also a nightclub. During the summer months, a number of more or less famous artists perform here. The property covers 900 square metres, spread over three floors. There are several bars and numerous dance floors.

A bright house with a soft atmosphere in the lanes of Visby. Meat and fish dishes around 200 to 250 Sek. The cooking of meat is perfect and local potatoes, apart potatis, are a real delight! Impressive wine and whisky menu, as well as a good selection of cigars, to be enjoyed on the heated terrace.

During the medieval week, grilled lamb with potato gratin, salad and bread is served in a paved courtyard. There are large wooden tables where you can eat as much as you like. You can also eat in a rustic dining room with a glass roof. The traditional Christmas buffet (Julbord) starts at the end of November. This address is mainly recommended in summer. In winter the restaurant is only open in the evening. If you are in the mood for dancing, the Sit Down Dansclub, the restaurant's own club, is there for you!

One of the only places in the old town where you can eat cheap (and very good) pizzas, drink a cold beer brewed in Gotland (Visby Kloster is recommended) and play billiards in the big room at the back with its medieval vaults. The dining room is pleasant and looks directly onto the eastern rampart and its large door. A whole wall has been decorated in the style of a modern living room with shelves, an aquarium and a large flat screen that broadcasts - very often - sports channels. A place that attracts curious and regulars!
