The café is located in the ruins of St. Hans church (13th century). White stone walls and an old, untouched archway shelter a garden where round wooden tables and wrought iron benches are shaded by elder and apple trees. From this very romantic setting, there is a superb view of the old houses embedded in the rock face overlooking the garden. The food is quite traditional Swedish, and you can come here for brunch or for a fika.

Highly recommended by the locals, this café in the eastern city wall is a regular meeting place for many Visby residents. Lovely and original with its medieval style and old stone walls. Every week (except in summer) they serve a traditional soup and salad buffet, accompanied by coffee and cakes. Lactose-free and gluten-free options are available on request. It is a great place to have a coffee or something to eat in a quiet and comfortable environment in Visby.
