If you want to eat cheaply but differently from the classic budget restaurants, stop by Kornhamnstorg to try a local classic. A white wagon with a yellow fish-shaped sign, formerly located in Södermalm, sells fried herring in all kinds of sauces: rolled in bread with a salad with fresh cream and leeks (for 100 SEK), as a burger (75 SEK) or "à la scanienne" (60 SEK): herring fillets with a mustard sauce, red onion and dill. Exotic and delicious!
