The Savalou region is a beautiful wooded area, covered with magnificent teckeraies with trees recognizable by their very large leaves. The population consists mainly of Mahi, one of the peoples most affected by the Dahomean raids. Since the National Road 3 has been fully paved, access to this region is much easier, and Savalou has become a stopover on the road to Natitingou and the North. The city of Savalou is located a few dozen kilometers from Dassa-Zoumé, on the paved road that leads to the commune of Djougou. The various buses and bush cabs stop there
