Savé is a town that has developed at the foot of the hills, here bare, which the inhabitants call the "udders" of Savé, because of their rather ambiguous shape. The city is also at the center of a Yoruba kingdom headed by an Oba, a crowned king who is a direct descendant of the king of Ifé, the only other such kingdom being that of Kétou. The power of theOba is limited, however, and extends only to his "capital" Savé, which was also written Tchabé, and the surrounding villages. To get there, the commune of Savé is located about 190 km from Parakou to the north, on the RN 2, and 255 km from Cotonou to the south
