ZOO

Voted the best zoo in Europe, this beautiful animal park inaugurated in 1935, offers an interesting stroll to discover the animal world. More than 1,500 animals belonging to 126 species can be seen on 8 hectares. At the entrance, Det gode kup, a sculpture from 1925 by the artist C.J Bonnesen offered by the local brewery. Activities are offered throughout the year (shows, animal meals, workshops, etc.). In addition, the zoo is involved in nature conservation projects and supports the Payamino Indians in their efforts to save 60,000 hectares of threatened tropical forest in Ecuador.
