Located on the edge of a fjord (the Limfjord) which connects the Baltic Sea to the North Sea, this vast agglomeration is enclosed between two hills and several rivers. A provincial city, it nevertheless has an intense nightlife thanks to the concerts that constantly animate the street and the numerous bars.Its creation dates back to the year 1000 with the settlement of a Viking community. Lindholm Høje is home to a Viking cemetery. The city has benefited from a beautification program: cleaning of the facades, introduction of car-free zones. The banks of the fjord on the downtown side have been renovated and are a pleasant walk.
