TOWN HALL (RÅDHUS)

This building was designed by Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) between 1936 and 1941, to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Aarhus Charter. Its walls are covered with grey Norwegian marble over 6,000^m2. The view from the top of the tower (60 meters) encompasses the whole city. To get there, you can take the elevator, the most courageous will climb the 345 steps. A guided tour of the town hall is organised every Saturday. No need to book, just meet in front of the main entrance on Rådhuspladsen where there is a Pølsevogn, a hot dog stand.
