MØLLESTIEN

Probably the prettiest street in Aarhus! Its name means "the mill path". Charming and timeless, with its cobblestones, tiny half-timbered houses, hollyhocks and bicycles hanging from the entrances. Most were built in the late ^19th century, even though the district dates back to Viking times. Known as "sheds" or "cabanes", these modest dwellings have just one floor, one or two small-paned windows, a kitchen and a living room. Close to the river, vegetable gardens were cultivated at the rear of the plots.
