Easy access on an asphalt road since 2007, the villages south-east of Abrud are very Nice. We have the impression that time has stopped there. Here, villagers are renowned for their hospitality and their attachment to traditions. You will soon get into it. It is the paradise of hikers and nature lovers; the landscapes are enchanting.Do not hesitate to use a guide to discover two superb basaltic peaks called Detunatele. One, Detunata Goală (goală means "bare" or "bald"), is 1 169 metres high; the other, Detunata Flocoasă (flocoasă means "hairy") is 1 265 metres. You can see which best corresponds to the adjective that qualifies it. Both are at the centre of a geological reserve, where you can reach Bucium (1 500 inhabitants) through a path. You can also access it from Roşia Montană or even take the whole road from Bucium to the gold village.
