Museum in Le Molay-Littry exploring the history of miners' lives through portraits and personal accounts.
Since 2021, the Mine Museum has been modernized, making it even more worth a visit. Discover an industrial adventure that began in 1741, when a local farmer spotted a coal seam. For 200 years, some 2,000 miners worked there, extracting over 2 million tonnes of coal. The tour takes you through a reconstructed gallery, where rails, carts and authentic testimonies transport you into the daily life of these workers. One look at the fire pump dating from 1800, and you're immersed in the industrial era!
