A milling museum on the banks of the Siette, featuring a mill wheel and a collection of antique tools.

Located on the banks of the Siette, a tributary of the Tortonne, the Moulin de Marcy, which became a museum in 1986, is the last remaining water mill in Calvados, nestled in a verdant setting. Agnès and Marc, the guides, explain the mechanical equipment still in place and the know-how of the millers of yesteryear, with demonstrations of hoppers and millstones. If you're lucky, you might even see buckwheat flour being made! A detour is also in order to admire the mill wheel, lovingly restored by two enthusiasts, and its collection of antique tools.

Helaas viel het bezoek aan de molen ons tegen. Ontvangst gebrekkig engels waardoor een miscommunicatie over de entree. Deze kan in combinatie met het mijnmuseum. Beschrijvingen alle in het frans. Met de google translate app konden we het gelukkig vertalen. Na een rondje van 20 minuten hadden we alles al gezien. Naar ons gevoel liep het museum een beetje op zijn eind.

La vie du meunier n'a plus de secret pour nous. Tout est très bien expliqué et on y retrouve tous les métiers qui sont autour du moulin.

Magnifique d'avoir pu conservé le moulin dans cet état ! Je conseille aux enfants qui auront ainsi une idée de la vie des anciens ,et qui comprendront qu'ils sont privilégié.

We visited this ticket using the joint ticket (with the Mine Museum in Le Molay-Littry). It is a nice little site and it's cool so see a working mill. Unfortunately with no English translations (accompanied by my poor French and the staff member's poor English) it was difficult to fully understand and appreciate the site, but a nice visit nonetheless.
There were some bats in one of the rooms as well!!
