SOUK CHRAITINE
Go there and contact
Souk Chraïtine, located in a large, dimly lit thoroughfare and filled with rattan thongs, bags and other woven baskets
From Bab Talar, your steps will naturally lead you to the souk Chraïtine, the leather souk, reserved for the sale of objects made in the open air near Place Ben Youssef. The Chraïtine souk was once the district for ropes(chraïtine) used by the city's workers or to harness dromedaries. This wide, dimly-lit thoroughfare, filled with thongs, bags, poufs and other rattan baskets, leads to the Chouari souk. It's on this street that leather goods are painted and polished, and sold by auction by craftsmen.
