BAB ER-ROBB
Bab er-Robb or "Grape Juice Gate", a main thoroughfare leading directly to the Almohad kasbah
Bab er-Robb or "Grape Juice Gate": this was the route by which cooked wine from the vineyards of the Oued N'Fis entered the city. This enabled the royal authorities to control traffic. As the main communication route, it played a key defensive role at the time, guarding the road leading to the Atlas Mountains. In 1310, the Marinid sultan Abou Thabit displayed the heads of 600 rebellious opponents on the gates of Bab er-Robb. This partly walled gateway leads directly to the Almohad kasbah.
