BAB KSIBA
Like the other fortified gates nearby, Bab Ksiba is one of the historic medieval gates and was built during the Almohad dynasty, when Morocco was master of the whole Maghreb. A smaller, more discreet gateway, but no less interesting for its elaborate architecture perfectly integrated into the ramparts, it provides access to the Derb Chtouka district, the open Méchouar square and the entire royal kasbah to the south-west. There's no mystery to its name, which means "little fort" in Berber, and it's listed as one of Morocco's cultural heritage sites.
