Opera-theater hosting plays, concerts, magic shows and international celebrities for various festivities

A source of pride for Marrakech's inhabitants (the only Moroccan city to have an Italian-style theater), the construction of this 20,000 m² opera-theater has provoked much controversy: the cost of this grandiose work, the brainchild of Charles Boccara, is out of all proportion to the city's available resources, especially as the project took ten years to complete. It regularly hosts plays, concerts, festivals, ballets and various shows, and welcomes many international personalities for events.

Visitez l'intérieur en demandant au gardien et vous serez surpris, je ne vous en dit pas plus. C'est à voir si vous êtes près de la gare ferroviaire mais inutile de faire un détour exprès sauf s'il y a une exposition
Back from Marrakech: one the us visit monument: work began in the early years 1980. The open-air theatre could be completed in 2001 or 2002. One shows it, but unfortunately the state theatre (and loges) starts to leave something to be desired. As for the opera (provided 800 covered), it was not finished yet. It seems that it was mall designed (part of the spectators would not have seen the stage) and financial means lacks to complete work. Unfortunately for the Moroccans. According to me, this monument is not worth, only the appearance is quite pretty.
