To start, I will say this property has a lot of potential. Although it is 25 minutes away from Marrakech city center, it offers an oasis amongst a desert wasteland. The property is most definitely 4 stars; however, the service is not up to par. Some items that my friend and I noted:
-The food sanitation is horrible. There is a breakfast buffet that had HUNDREDS of bees swarming the food, making it virtually impossible to retrieve a plate without bees landing on you. The lunch buffet was the same situation- birds, bees and flies landing on the food all day long. If this were in the United States, it would have failed food safety inspections.
-Food service was very slow. We understand that in different cultures, they take their time and don’t rush as we Americans do. But it was surprising considering we were one of maybe 10 people at this location. In addition, we were told breakfast begins at 8:15 but they were never ready until closer to 8:30-9 daily. My friend was pregnant and experiencing morning sickness, so the delay was definitely a major issue for us.
-We were told that the menu changes daily and that was why the menu wasn’t posted online, but that was not true. The menu did not change and you were left to pick from the same 6 items every day. Food was a 4/10 so if foodie experiences are your thing, skip this place.
-There was a friendly dog and multiple cats roaming the property. We did not mind these animals because we love pets, but we can understand why some people may be put off by this.
-On multiple occasions, we had random men enter our suite through the back fence. This was extremely disturbing being that we were 2 women traveling without our husbands. Once we yelled, they left the property but it was very upsetting.
-The hotel staff is super accommodating if you reach out to them via WhatsApp. Anything we asked for was delivered within 30 minutes. Reda was very kind and helped us once we arrived.
-The hotel pool as well as our suite pool were absolutely beautiful and the temperature was great. This was definitely a bonus.
The best thing that could happen to this property would be if it were to be bought out by a big hotel chain (Marriott, Hilton, IHG, etc). It could really benefit from more staff, advertising, etc.
