German Avenue near Alexanderplatz, now home to gigantic apartments, cafés and restaurants.

A touch of Moscow on this boulevard in Friedrichshain. Karl-Marx-Allee (Stalinallee until 1961) is East Berlin's prestigious avenue: its colossal buildings feature neoclassical facades and decorative elements celebrating workers and farmers. In the days of the GDR, it was a popular shopping area, but its emblematic addresses (Café Moskau, Café Sibylle, Karl-Marx bookshop...) have since had to close down. There's still the Kino International...

Not to be confused with Karl-Marx-Straße in Neukölln (West Berlin).

L'endroit idéal pour ceux qui veulent découvrir l'avenue la plus marquante de Berlin-Est. Une architecture des plus soviétique ou tout est absolument symétrique. A faire sans hésitation.

Plongée dans l'époque soviétique en parcours cette longue avenue qu'est la Karl Marx Allee. Il faut bien penser à lever la tête pour admirer les immeubles d'époque

Passage ideal to go to the remaining part of the wall. You go between two worlds passing from the city centre Karl Marx Allee. Soviet architecture shows very well the two influences which influenced the city a good part of the 20th Century.
