ASISI PANORAMA PERGAMONMUSEUM
Immersive, breathtaking. There are no words to describe artist Yadegar Asisi's panoramic experience of the ancient city of Pergamon in Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey). With the Pergamonmuseum closed for a few years, Panorama offers the opportunity to admire the sculpture collections from the Great Altar of Pergamon. Numerous statues of Hellenistic divinities and busts. Frieze elements are also on display. Last but not least, a huge circular room allows you to immerse yourself in the ancient city at 360 degrees. The German-Iranian artist, renowned for his many panoramic creations around the world, has staged actors re-enacting bacchanalian feasts in the ancient city, as if you were there 2,000 years ago. The experience is breathtaking, vertiginous even, with the view of these landscapes all around you from the platform you can climb onto for even more sensations. Details are everywhere: characters in their roles, a sculptor in action, theatrical actors or a festive procession. Lovers of Antiquity, but also the curious, will appreciate the staging, majestically accompanied by a soundtrack by Eric Babak, as well as the lighting effects that plunge you first into the night, then into the day. Explanatory panels tell you all you need to know about the making of this masterpiece.
