HAUS DER KULTUREN DER WELT
Berlin's Sohr Bejeng Ndikung runs an active, cutting-edge cultural center for non-European art projects.
This "house of world cultures" - commonly known as the Pregnant Oyster(Die Schwangere Auster) - is a convex-shaped Congress Hall, donated by the Americans to contribute to Berlin's renewal at the 1957 Interbau international architecture exhibition. Today, the HKW is an active, cutting-edge cultural venue, giving priority to non-European art projects under the direction of new curator Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung.
