7,000 m² interactive museum with 20 themed rooms devoted to the history of Berlin from its foundation to the Reich.

The history of Berlin is revisited here in an interactive way. 7,000 square meters are devoted to it, all divided into 20 themed rooms with a rather old-fashioned scenography. This unusual museum offers us a virtual journey through the city's space and time, but the result is not up to the standard of a 21st century museum. From the creation of Berlin to the Third Reich, key passages, such as the autodafé, are reconstructed using different media, sounds, lights and videos. They want to show us history in action. The journey begins with a short film that takes up the main points of history, before guiding us towards a life-size chronology. In the end, the equipment is a bit dusty and the experience is not always very subtle. The most important space of the museum is actually underground, in the anti-atomic bunker that can be visited (on a guided tour) once an hour: don't miss this extraordinary place, which was designed to house more than 3,500 people. It was never used as such and now hosts trendy parties... Ah, Berlin!
