Schleuse is German for lock, and Krug for beer mug. It's all in the name: the setting and the drink. The Schleusenkrug is a popular beer garden along the Spree opposite the Tiergarten. The menu is typical of northern Germany, with small dishes traditionally served with beer: herring(Matjes), breadedschnitzel, grilled mushrooms... There are occasional concerts in the evening, but on a sunny day you're more likely to come for the long communal tables and the beer.
