The cuisine is inspired by French gastronomy, the dishes are refined and the products are regional. Led by owner and sommelier Fabian Fischer and chef Steven Zeidler, Bricole began as a fine bar serving appetizers and wine before transforming into an upscale restaurant that was awarded a Michelin star in 2022. The menu begins with a basket of bread and butter followed by delicately presented small plates. For example: imperial quail with truffles and grapes, or cod confit with apple sake and hollandaise, real delights. The menu changes regularly according to the season's products.

Transparency is key: the mozzarella comes from a farm in Brandenburg and the pork from carefully selected artisanal butchers. The soft, crispy-edged pizzas are absolutely delicious and particularly light to digest due to the long fermentation process of the dough.

Craving a real English breakfast, but you're in Berlin? Don't panic, the Lonely Hearts Café is here. In 2021, Amy and Nic, two English expats, decided to open this little caff to fill their crying need for a good fry-up. On the menu, the classic English breakfast of course, but also well-filled pancakes. Being in Berlin, everything is also available in vegan. If you're feeling particularly greedy, try one of their indecent milkshakes, topped with whipped cream and a cherry, like in the movies!

Brunch, brunch, brunch. You can't get enough of it, in the Kreuz-Neukölln district. In a minimalist and design setting, Sorrel serves refined small plates based on local organic and seasonal products at lunchtime and some evenings; above all, Sorrel bets on the quality of the dishes. This brand new restaurant opening in 2023 is unique, specializing in the nutrition of the future: the insect. But don't worry, the menu is of course not all made up of these little legged invertebrates. The ethos of Mikrokosmos is clear, the protection of our environment. The restaurant thus bets on a completely sustainable production by minimizing the delivery circuits and by supplying itself only with organic products resulting from the local agriculture. The concept is certainly very commendable and the execution really successful.

Sometimes all you really want is a good old-fashioned fast food joint. That's exactly what Goldies offers, claiming to be the best junk food in town, and we can attest. First, the nasty fries, trays of fries with lots of toppings. As a topping, we recommend the Beef in Paris: pink beef, fried onions and Bearnaise mayonnaise or The Truffle: fresh black truffles, parmesan and truffle mayonnaise. Not in the mood for fries? Try the honey butter lacquered fried chicken... We are really far from the KFC.

At Rubens, you'll find the classic Venezuelan street food: homemade arepas , prepared right before your eyes. Arepas are oven-baked corn cakes, which are then filled with all sorts of mouth-watering ingredients: chicken and avocado, beef stew and gouda... In addition to the various meat variants, there's also a vegan option with plantain and black beans, which is really delicious. Please note that the restaurant is tiny, with only two tables, so don't hesitate to take your arepas to go!

In the heart of Neukölln, a small Mexican street food restaurant with a lot of charm. Forget the Tex-Mex burritos, Oh La Queca proclaims itself the casa de la tortilla and introduces us to an authentic Mexican cuisine. For breakfast, we recommend the chilaquiles, tortilla chips in a spicy sauce covered with white cheese or feta cheese and a fried egg or chicken. Another Mexican specialty not to be missed is the mole, a rich and salty cocoa or chocolate sauce, cooked with a variety of spices and herbs, a real treat!

If you're a fan of Sichuan cuisine, one thing is certain, you won't be disappointed at Kong. In addition to the delicious handmade noodles and tasty ravioli, don't leave without trying the mapo-tofu: silky pieces of tofu, braised in a rich and flavorful sauce, with fresh garlic, green onions, minced pork and of course the famous Sichuan pepper that numbs your mouth. As a side dish, we recommend the Chinese cucumber salad, ugly cucumber, with garlic and sesame, perfectly refreshing.

After the success of the Masel Topf restaurant in Prenzlauer Berg, Konstantin Pinski had the excellent idea to introduce the cuisine of the Levant to Charlottenburg; seasonal delicacies prepared with devotion by chef Pavel Colesnicenco. We recommend a mixed starter: Amba shrimp, Levante Rolls and Sesame Cauliflower set the mood for the evening. For the main course, you can vary between grilled meat, eggplant with preserved lemon, honey and sumac or monkfish with beurre blanc. There is no wrong choice.

Finally, a cafe where you can find good New York-style bagels! Inspired by the Jewish delis of New York, Masha offers several variations of bagels (poppy, sesame, cumin or plain) all homemade and prepared by hand. On the menu, classics like the smoked salmon and cottage cheese bagel, or more novel bagels, like the one with tofu and spicy vegan mayonnaise. If bagels don't appeal to you, try the Grilled Cheese, a delicious three-cheese sandwich.

It's not easy to eat well on the run in Check Point Charlie, is it? Difficult mission but not impossible. Try Chupenga. This small, quality fast food restaurant is popular with the neighborhood's white-collar workers who come here for lunch. The concept is simple: you choose a base (salad, burrito, taco or bowl) then a source of protein (chicken, beef, veggie, etc.) and finally the extras and the sauce. Thanks to his success, he was able to open further branches in the city: in Friedrichstraße, East-Side-Gallery or Gendarmenmarkt.

Located on the ^8th floor at a height of 32 meters, Golvet, with its breathtaking view of the capital, is a destination for discerning gourmets. Chef Jonas Zörner (Berlin Meisterkoch 2022 champion) delights us with refined creations, composed almost entirely of regional products. Two rather minimalist 7-course menus (one vegetarian) are available, focusing on the marriage of flavors. Zörner plays with creative compositions, serving, for example, a plate of black zucchini with cabbage and black garlic. Sober but delicious!

Mattea is a cool, trendy café where you can come during the day to recharge your batteries over a coffee, at weekends to brunch or in the late afternoon for an Italian-style aperitivo. Waffles, shakshuka and many egg dishes. Inside (nicely decorated, by the way), you can also take a look at the shop window to get an idea of the cakes of the day available. In summer, its large terrace on a very quiet street is most pleasant. And for Latin speakers, mattea, matteae, these are the delights...

The Greens Café is a beautifully furnished café in Weserstraße. The name of the café reflects its decoration: many plants and wooden furniture make it a bright and cosy place. On the menu you will find tasty dishes prepared with good products: avocado, bacon, cakes, plates to share and above all eggs in all forms (poached, scrambled, etc.). The coffee served here comes from a coffee roaster in Bremen that uses organic and fair trade beans. An excellent address for a brunch in Neukölln.
