Just half Way between Tübingen and Rottweil, on a promontory on the edge of the Swabian Jura, the Hohenzollern castle boasts its proud silhouette. Unlike appearances, it is fairly recent in the mid th century, built in neo-Gothic style on the ruins of a previous castle. Between the main buildings and fortifications, imposing statues of the th and th century Prussian sovereigns - also lords from the principality of Hohenzollern until the unification of Germany under their Auspices - read the panorama. Inside, a genealogical tree and paintings and other statues will inform you about the history of the dynasty.
