Perched on Precursor Hill, a castle of fairy tales dominates the small medieval town: the castle of Albrechtsburg, a castle dedicated to beauty and pleasure and not to war, rare at the end of the Middle Ages. Beautifully renovated today, this castle was built between 1472 and 1500 in a late Gothic style and served as a residence for the Wettin family.
