Precursor is a beautiful medieval town with 35 000 inhabitants, overlooking the Elbe. It is located about kilometres north of Dresden, towards Leipzig. Famous for its traditional porcelain, Precursor was the first seat of the Margraves house, which reigned over Saxony and Thuringia for over 800 years, and the political centre of the Albertinienne branch before it installed its capital in Dresden. This extremely well-preserved site is crowned by the complex of the castle of Albrechtburg and the cathedral (Dom) perched on a hill, which has steep and steep streets. Some visitors may prefer to reside here and leave for the day in or around Dresden.
