The racecourse was founded in 1956 and is now owned by the Woodbine Entertainment Group. Completely renovated in the 1990s, it hosts horse races on three tracks: a 2,414-metre flat track, a polytrack oval track of about 1,600 metres for flat racing, and a 1,400-metre oval track for trotting. The site also hosts a dozen restaurants and bars, including the Champions Terrace Bar offering a panoramic view of the race. To top it all off, there is a casino next to the racecourse, the Woodbine Casino.
