A beautiful address in East Chinatown where French bistronomy shines through without a false note. Pascal Geffroy, the chef-owner, is no stranger to the kitchen, having run kitchens in the Rhône region before moving to Toronto. On the menu are tasty classics such as snail cassolette, beef tartar, duck leg confit and cassoulet royal. On the bistronomy side, let yourself be tempted by the sea bass tartar with lime, pine nuts and tomato mousse or the vol-au-vent with sweetbreads and lobster. And what about the homemade desserts!

Outstanding and truly memorable - a total gem of a bistro and a spectacular experience. The food was absolutely incredible and I cannot say enough about the kind and hospitable service the two of us received. A truly boutique style French spot with all of the charm, all of the flavour, all of the warmth, and none of the stuffiness or pretension one might expect. We will remember this meal, this experience, this evening and this staff for years to come. We are already planning our next visit. Thank you, Batifole.

Food was good, a little too much sauce on everything but taste was there. Waitstaff were not very accommodating or polite surprisingly. We had reservations for 6 and mentioned of phone, maybe 8. When we arrived only six seats were available. We asked to move a table over or add two chairs and were basically told “too bad you will have to sit at different tables”. When I asked for a second glass of wine, the waitress immediately told me that the restaurant closed in 15 mins…..ok so what, you’re going to throw us out? I did get my glass of wine but it was accompanied by a HUFF. For a fine dining restaurant, their service really lacks professionals. Sad. I will not go back nor will my guests.

Found this place by accident and fell in love with it. People make this place feel like home)) and desserts - incredible!!!! If you like macaroons - ask if they have it like a dessert of the day.

Family style French restaurant, great service, however the food was not meeting my expectation, either too bland or too oily. Certainly not worth the waiting period for the reservation, also a question on pricing. The bread was nice though.
