This small town of some 50,000 people, including about 30% Francophones, is located in the extreme east of the province, near Quebec and the Akwesasne Indian Reserve. It was founded in 1874 by the Loyalists, fleeing the American Revolution by the state of New York. His name was awarded in honor of Prince George, Duke of Cornwall, Cornwall.
