The municipality of Oka lies on the north shore of Lac des Deux-Montagnes, some 50 km northwest of Montreal, and is also accessible by ferry (ice bridge in winter) from Hudson in the Montérégie region. It is highly regarded for its national park (accommodation on site), for its ultra-frequented beach in season, for its abbey - where the famous Oka cheese was created - which now serves as an inn and restaurant, and for its Cabane à pommes, a unique foodie experience in Quebec to be enjoyed at Labonté de la pomme. Oka is also a great place for water sports, hiking and gourmet delights (Chemin du Terroir).
