A remarkable historical site with old houses from the 17th century and the oldest church in Quebec.
One of those must-see places where you can authentically feel the breath of history. It was originally Champlain's garden. As the city grew, it became a bustling marketplace and, until the 19th century, the center of Quebec City's economic activity. It is surrounded by old 17th-century houses such as Fornel, Drapeau, Bruneau and Rageot, all of which have since been restored. Notre-Dame-des-Victoires church, built in 1688, is one of the oldest churches in Quebec and houses a gilded altarpiece depicting the fortified city of Quebec.
