PORTE DES CORDELIERS ET REMPARTS
The site offers a bird's-eye view of the Val d'Ante and a choice of family walks along the ramparts or to the old town
Among the six defensive gates of the ancient fortified town, the Porte des Cordeliers, flanked by a long section of ramparts, is a fine example of medieval architecture. Built in the 13th century and designed as a gatehouse with a portcullis (a large gate), it owes its name to the nearby convent of Cordeliers monks. The site offers a bird's-eye view of the Val d'Ante, as well as opportunities for family walks along the ramparts or into the old town.
