Normandy’s most visited castle, with animations, retracing 1,000 years of history, with ramparts featuring 15 towers and 3 keeps.

Erected on a rocky spur in the Xᵉ century and fortified by William the Conqueror and then by Henry I Beauclerc, his last son, Falaise Castle is an imposing sight, with its keeps and rampart flanked by fifteen towers. A strategic site from William the Conqueror's first feat of arms to Richard the Lionheart and John Lackland, it was occupied by the English during the Hundred Years' War. Guided tour available.

I went into the grounds and it's free. You get a good view of the castle and of the roofs of Falaise. I didn't get in the paying area so I cannot speak about it, but it was very nice to be able to get into the walls with my dog.
